Despite its name, lingcod are not cod at all, rather, they are in the same bottom-dwelling group as sablefish and rockfish. These fish can be found at depths of 1500 feet or more.
What you’re *NOT* getting:
Conventional fishing methods for Lingcod and other groundfish include trawl fishing, in which huge nets pulled by boats are dragged across the bottom of the ocean, scooping up everything in their path. The targeted species are kept and sold and the bycatch are discarded. TwoXSea will never buy or sell fish caught by trawl boats.
Lingcod is a lean white fleshed fish with a mild flavor profile, medium-firm texture and large flakes. These fish have a natural blue-green flesh that transforms to a beautiful white when cooked.
